The ukulele in the hands of almost anyone else is simply the four stings and two octaves that is the traditional Hawaiian instrument. For Jake Shimabukuro however, it is the way he interfaces with the world around him--on stage all the passion and charisma of this congenial and down-to-earth virtuoso manifests itself in a way that makes it plain to see that the ukulele is merely an extension of himself.
