Two of Kitsap’s favorite original artists are collaborating to celebrate the release of their latest albums! It was important to both bands to keep it local to give their home base fans the best opportunity to attend, and bring together all those who’ve been a part of the albums’ creation.

Native to the Wichita plains and raised in Boulder, CO, Kara's midwestern roots seep through her sultry voice and songwriting with an eclectic blend of soul and rock 'n roll. For the last few years, she's been traveling around the country, establishing herself in different markets, including Charleston, Seattle, San Francisco, and Denver. In 2010, she opened for the late B.B. King at Red Rocks, alongside Al Green and Buddy Guy, with Denver-based classic rock band, The Groove Hawgs. In promotion of her debut EP, Better By Morning, she most recently opened for Steve Miller Band with her own 4-piece, Seattle-based band during the Road Home Tour.

Born in South Africa and raised in Hong Kong, Thys Wallwork (aka Skinny Blue) has been exposed to a wide range of cultures and music, adding a unique flavor of Alt-rock and Blues. Some of his biggest influences include The Black Keys, Gary Clark Jr and John Mayer, but you’ll hear hints of the 90’s grunge days seeping in around the edges. One of the highlights of the album was being able to record it in the same studio (Robert Lang Studios) as many of his favorite bands as a teenager: Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Presidents of the United States of America.
